On the 1st of November, taking advantage of the dual public holidays, we planned a trip to the Black River Gorges National Park. Our destination was Cascade 500 Pieds also known as Cascade de Galets or Cascade de L’Exemple, a waterfall that is obviously 500 ft high (152 m).
Today, I noticed that my neighbour’s cat was going upstairs several times. While they are free to roam the yards & the walls, going inside the house is unusual for them. Going upstairs, I heard what sounded like faint meows. Rummaging & banging around some boxes, I couldn’t hear it again. & then I tried to imitate a cat’s meow. In the last post, we had been abandoned & left to explore the village of Treize Cantons in Vieux Grand Port. So far, we've had a history lesson, crossed a dual bridge, frightened a spider & saw some floating lands. Now, it was time to climb the mountain – Montagne Lion, 480m.
Last Sunday (the 25th September), after watching some planes take off, I was on my way to the actual adventure of the day - climbing Montagne Lion. After conquering the 812m of Le Pouce twice, I couldn't wait to climb Lion Mountain & it’s paltry 480m!
I mean, how hard can it be?
